Is this made of 100% cotton?+ No, 100% polyester. However, it is exquisitely soft, if that helps.

Is the backing waterproof?
+Yes the backing is waterproof not fabric. I must say the Gorilla Grip bath rug is EXCELLENT for our needs. It grips really well. I highly recommend.

Does this slip when wet?It slips when you step on it even when floor is dry but especially when floor had been cleaned.

The rug is a perfect fit in front of my double sink vanity. It does have a nice softness to it and certainly does not slip. I was hoping it would be thicker but not terrible. I purchased this rug due to the particular size I needed and for it to be machine washable. So in my opinion, this is made of good quality and serves its purpose. I also purchased the smaller size for stepping out of the shower and overall, happy I choose this product from Gorilla Grip.

I had an accident in the bathroom from sliding on my old bath rug and immediately discarded both bathroom rugs since they were old and slippery. I bought the replacements from 2 different companies because I wasn't sure what would be the least slippery on my linoleum bathroom floor. This rug was the more expensive one. It has a rubber backing and I thought it would be better than the other rug. Sadly, that wasn't the case. The cheaper rug does not budge on the floor. This rug is not exactly slippery, but it doesn't grip the floor either. I can use it because I have a plastic step to get into the tub ( more than 7 years old from Amazon), I use the step to hold down one end of the rug and that seems to work well enough so I can use it. It might work better on another kind of floor. I don't know.

I purchased 2 of these carpets in the 70" x 24" and they fit our bathrooms perfectly. They have an excellent grip on the back and do not slide at all. We have high shine tiles and this carpet does not move. It is plush and soft on your feet. It is can easily be cleaned in the washer/dryer. I've been seeking a carpet exactly like this and would highly recommend them. I had purchased the grey for one of our bathrooms and the returned it. Unfortunately, I had to pay for the shipping to return. This is the only reason that I gave the product a 4 star, otherwise, the product itself is a 5 star.

GRIP? What grip? This was supposed to be a non-slip rug for the bathroom. It slips all over the place on vinyl tile. This was critical for my wife, since she's confined to a wheelchair and when she stands to transfer to the toilet and back or the tub and back, it's important that the rug doesn't slip under her feet so that she falls.

I rated it ONE STAR on everything, even though the categories had nothing to do with the actual problem about this rug. Of course it's absorbent, it's soft, and easy to clean, but aside from that, IT WON'T STAY PUT, which is the whole point of the description as a GORILLA GRIP. This isn't even a monkey grip.

I received the 1st one of these and the edging was shredding where the ends meet. So Amazon sent me a replacement and I washed it the day I got it in a front load washer with no agitator and the replacement did the same thing (shredded where the edge ends meet). This will make two trips 5 miles away to the UPS store to send it back and not to mention the detergent and electricity I've wasted twice now.

I ordered these because I had found some that I liked at the dollar store and Walmart previously, that have lasted two plus years and are still in use after many washes and dries. I thought the extra length would be perfect and they look so similar in the ad. I was wrong. The rug length and width is perfect, but they are so thin and flimsy. You can literally see the backing from the top side in so many places. Not at all what I was hoping for.
